Kurraba Point

Officially name the harbourside suburb on July 4, 2010, by Geographical Names Board, Kurraba Point is situated just four kilometres away from Sydney’s CBD and shares its postcode with Neutral Bay. Spanning across Kurraba Reserve’s foreshore area, this suburb has immediate access to the harbour and boasts extraordinary views from the likes of Hodgson Lookout and Spains Warf Lookout.

Perfect for families and dogs to enjoy, Kurraba Reserve features seats, convenient lighting, a bubbler and a specially designed playground with classical styling. Transport is easily accessible, with ferries occupying the warf located at Kurraba Point, making it simple to get around town and avoid traffic.

Formerly named Thrupps Point and Ballast Point, Kurraba Point resides on the land of Cammeraygal Group of the Ku-ring-gai Aboriginal tribe. In the 1850s, the area functioned as a sandstone quarry, providing stones to ballast ships returning from England. By 1855, 8,000 tonnes of stone were delivered to Kurraba Point to put the finishing touches on Fort Denison.

Previously a part of Neutral Bay, Kurraba is a thriving hotspot for both real estate with prime views and spectacular surroundings. If you’d like to find out more about this stunning area, Urban Living’s professional team are more than willing to answer questions and provide advice.
